Rita Ora, a British singer-songwriter. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter who was born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. Her family moved to United Kingdom at age 1. She was born in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing from a young stage of her life. In 2004, she was a part of the British film Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision The Country That is in need of You (BBC One) She was selected to represent the UK in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She eventually walked out of the contest after several episodes, feeling that the stage was not in good condition. Ora released her first music in 2007 when she appeared in the Craig David song "Awkward" followed by another appearance on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora started singing in bars across London. Roc Nation was told by an A&R agent about Ora in the year 2009 just a few days after Ora traveled to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo on Jay-Z's music video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Ora attracted the attention of Jay-Z and he was able to sign her to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in commercials for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the owner of a pub, and she started her career as a singer from the pub. She cites Gwen Stefani as a major influence on her demeanor, and her band No Doubt's "Don't speak" (1996) is among her favourite songs.Her video for Tezenis's, The Silk Code, is the title of a novel that was awarded the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel in 1999.She was thought of for the role of Iris West in Justice League (2017) prior to the time that Kiersey Clemons was cast. A friend of Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
