Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). When she was just four years old she began her career in the business by performing voiceovers and commercial work. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. Her next film was The Object of My Affection (1998) followed by time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" who was a child that was found in the park, and cared for by Josie and Gary. Sarah would work alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") for a few more episodes: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was named one of the younger "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) in the same year that she was cast as "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) starring Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth. She also appeared in Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah took classes in jazz hip hop, tap, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed in her class in tap and Theatre at "Reel to Real" in Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. When she was home-schooled by her mom, she went to public schools until the second grade. In the 6th grade she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) where she stayed until 2008 when she graduated. Sarah was 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed on a plane named "My American Family" within two weeks. Once she was accepted by the airline, the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah currently portrays Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has received numerous awards, most notably the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
