Sofia Margarita Vergara
Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American actor and presenter. Vergara was America's highest-paid actress between 2013 and 2020. Vergara gained prominence hosting two Spanish-language television programs for Univision in late 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was the first big acting performance for Vergara in English. Then, she was in Four Brothers (2006) and Tyler Perry's comedy Jail (2008). She was nominated for an ALMA Award for the former. The first time she appeared was as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in ABC's comedy show Modern Family, for which she was nominated four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards and eleven Screen Actor Guild Awards. Her voice-overs included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also in The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was the highest-paid Hollywood actress of 2020[citation requiredfor 2020[citation needed]. Since the year 2020, Vergara has been a judge on America's Got Talent. Vergara was born into a Roman Catholic family from Barranquilla. Vergara's mother Margarita Vergara was a homemaker while her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a cattle rancher. With her five siblings and numerous cousins, she was called "Toti". Vergara was a dental student for three years at the National University of Colombia, however, she resigned two semesters short of completing her education to pursue modeling opportunities and show business.
