Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter of Kjellfrid Andreassen, a former midwife and nurse in Norway. She was born April 25 1969 in Katy. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a Swiss engineer. They were are married in 1963. Drew Zellweger was Renee's older brother. He is an executive in the field of marketing who was born February 15, 1967. Renee was part of the drama group at high school when she became interested in acting. She took an acting course at the University of Texas (Austin) and began to think about acting as a profession. She was keen to pursue acting after graduation. However, Hollywood can be difficult to make it into and so Renee determined to stay in Texas and try out for roles around Houston. At the time, she got roles in films such as Reality Bites (1994), and Empire Records (1995). While on the set for the sequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) she made friends with Matthew McConaughey, another Hollywood rising star. Renee was able to observe him working on a project that caught her attention. She auditioned and was awarded the role in Love and A.45 (1994). The role was a success that earned her the critical praise and a decision to move to Los Angeles. Another role in The Whole Wide World (1996) was the next one, which eventually led to her breakthrough. Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) in which she starred Tom Cruise. Crowe was looking into actresses such as Bridget Fonda (Camden Diaz), Winona Ryder (Winona Ryder) and Marisa Tomei. He was able to see Zellweger's performance from The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger to ensure that the actress was in fact his Dorothy Boyd. Following her success in a handful of independent movies, Renee felt confident enough to make a return to the huge-budget Hollywood film industry. She was a co-star with Meryl Streep in the tear-jerker One True Thing (1998). She also appeared in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) opposite Jim Carrey and shortly after she started dating Jim Carrey. in the title role in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
