Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor, director,
actor, and musician who has directed numerous episodes of TV, including The
Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire
(2012), among others. She also served as the Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick
Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and has been tapped to direct two pilots in the
process of development. Milena was selected as one of the eight directors for
AFI's highly acclaimed Directing Workshop for Women. Unspeakable is her short
film and television show proof of concept, was premiered at SXSW. It also
received Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and
Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017)
has played all over the country and won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film
Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest, and the Director's Choice
Award at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has been
featured in over 100 episodes of television. She first gained national
attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy
on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She was also featured in
the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) that led to her role as the first and
the only female detective in the Emmy-winning show Law & Order (1990).
K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC
Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all
featured her or had her in. Milena is also a part of many films, such as Sordid
Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she starred opposite Steve
Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015); #Lucky Number (2015) which starred alongside
Method Man; and the movies Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner
(2021). Milena, a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian of her high
school, before she graduated with the double major in vocal performance and a
premedical degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also named
valedictorian. She benefited from her classical ballet training soon after to
stage her Broadway debut in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production
"Cabaret" at Studio 54.
