Zooey Claire Deschanel (born January 17, 1980) was an American actress, model and musician. Her debut in film was in Mumford (1999) and was a supporting role in the film of Cameron Crowe Almost Famous (2000). Deschanel is known for her slapstick performances in comedies like The Good Girl (2002) and The New Guy (2006). Deschanel has also ventured into dramatic film territory, with Manic (2001), All the Real Girls (2006), Winter Passing 2005, Bridge to Terabithia (2008), The Happening (2008) The Happening (2008), and The Driftless Area (2015). Jessica Day was her main character on Fox's sitcom New Girl between 2011 and 2018. The show garnered three Golden Globe Awards nominations, along with Primetime Emmy Awards nominations. Deschanel was first performed in the jazz-themed cabaret If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies in 2001, performed for several years. In 2006, Deschanel teamed up with M. Ward to form She & Him, and they released their debut album, Volume One in the year 2008. The duo have released five albums since including Volume Two (2010) and A Very She & Him Christmas (2011). Volume 3 (2013) was their last album. Classics 2014 was their fifth album.
